Alice Carpenter, her aunt Twila, and her next-door neighbor Granny Chisholm enjoy communicating with ghosts. When they visit an old hotel in Mineral Springs, Texas, they meet a gorgeous, naked hunk named Patrick, who needs a bit of help passing through the light. While exploring the hotel, they discover a body in the elevator shaft. The local sheriff considers them suspects, so Alice and her motley crew—a rottweiler, a Siamese cat, and her ex-husband, Detective Jack Robecheau, in addition to Aunt Twila and Granny Chisholm—set out to find the true culprits and satisfy their dead clients. This fast-moving story gets still more complicated when a band of guerrilla survivalists joins the cast. Alice and friends must solve the crimes before a bomb destroys them along with the hotel. Readers who enjoy the paranormal and like a bit of comedy with their suspense will get plenty of satisfaction while visiting Mineral Springs.
