A Private Home in Calvert
Calvert, TX

In February, 2004, several of us spent the night at a haunted B&B in Calvert, Texas. My husband, Barney, went along, and Belle met us at the B&B. Later, my two friends, Michelle D. and Michelle W. arrived. Soon after we all got there that afternoon, the innkeeper told us that a couple of ladies in town would love to meet us, if we were amenable. Since we love to chat about ghosts, we eagerly agreed, and Joyce and Paula arrived a while later. We chatted and walked around the hotel, then Joyce asked if we’d like to see her historical house, which she believed was haunted. She said she had never really seen anyone, or thing, there, but had felt that she wasn’t alone at times.

We found Joyce had a slew of ghosts in her house. Among the most interesting:

Joyce collects old hats, and nothing would do but that we all choose one and pose for some pictures while wearing them. In one of the pictures I took, there is a cloud of mist in the lower portion.

In another, there is a red mist over a portion of the picture.

The dining room also appeared to be fairly haunted. While we were posing for pictures, we could see into that room. Belle said there was a young man sitting in a chair back in the far corner, and he was watching us. Later, Michelle W. sat in that chair and I took picture of her. In the picture, there appears to be a young boy sitting on her lap, and there was, of course, no young boy there.

In another shot I took in the dining room, there are some orbs around a display of plates.

Paula visits Joyce quite often, and she stays in the guest bedroom. Paula said she believed that bedroom was definitely haunted. We all gathered in there, and immediately we started getting pictures with numerous orbs in them. Two of my better ones are the one with Belle sitting on the guest bed and another one with Paula in the same spot.
